On the 16th of June 2021, the AU/CIEFFA will host a panel discussion and special music performance in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, to commemorate the Day of the African Child (DAC) under the theme “Safeguarding the future of our children by ensuring the return of all African girls to school in the context of COVID-19”.
The scheduled celebrations will explore the strategies employed by AU Member states to ensure the continuity of education for all African girls and the use of Heritage, Arts and Culture to promote girls’ education in line with the AU theme of the year.
The event will be graced by H.E. Mrs Sika Kaboré, the First Lady of Burkina Faso, Diplomatic Corps present in Burkina Faso and education experts from different international development organisations and CSOs. Other invited guests include representatives of different Ministries in Burkina Faso, children and youth.
